INSIDE THE HISTORIC CENTER
Florence historic center is quite gathered and easy to visit on foot: you only need 30 minutes to visit it, during which you see the main attractions of the city.
If you want to stay in the heart of Florence, you should choose a structure near Piazza San Marco, Piazza Santa Croce, Ponte Vecchio and Piazza Santa Maria Novella.
This is one of most frequented areas by tourists during the daytime and, in summer, till late night.
In alternative, you can stay in the Oltrarno area, in the southern part of the Arno River; near the most characteristic artisan and antique trade shops, Palazzo Pitti and the Garden of Boboli. You will be in the city center anyway, you can reach monuments, squares, churches, restaurants, shops and main museums with a short walk.
If you are nightlife lovers, we suggest the places around Via dei Benci, in Santa Croce’s quartier, or near Piazza Santo Spirito in the Oltrarno. You will find some pubs and clubs in the first area and pubs and restaurants (opened till late night) in the second one.
OUTSIDE THE HISTORIC CENTER
If you opt for staying outside Florence historic center, you will breath the most authentic air of Florence, so that you will live like real Florentines.
Moreover, if you come by car and you also want to visit the surroundings of Florence, this solution will surely be more convenient and cheaper.
Depending on the district chosen, the historic center could be quite near anyway. If you stay just outside the circles of the streets in the area of Piazza Beccaria or near Piazzale Michelangelo, you will need only a 15-20 minutes walk to reach the Duomo.
