Buxi does not provide fixed routes but these are determined on the basis of the actual request from the users. The service comes right up to your the house. Citizens can book calling 800 905183 before 6 p.m. of the previous day, while calling after 6pm and up to an hour before departure, it will be possible for them to join in already scheduled races. Also reservations can cover more days, up to a maximum of seven. To facilitate the reservation, the stop points are numbered. To use Buxi it is sufficient to have regular tickets or subscriptions in use for the urban lines, without any surcharge.

BIKE
The “Amici della Bicicletta” of Siena were born in 1989 as an association that is characterized by a marked interest in the bicycle as an ideal tool to get to know the territory and as a means of locomotion, cost-effective and ecological, in everyday transfers around the city.
In 1990 the decision to make contact with the FIAB – Federazione Italiana Amici della Bicicletta – to which they subscribed. In recent years, the activities of the AdB have had the purpose of promoting the culture of the bicycle in a broad sense. Hence a capillary organization of cycling initiatives, open to all (very young, young and old, men and women), who have not confined themselves to the provincial territory but who have progressively looked farther with the aim of being together and appreciating the historical-artistic-environmental aspects of the land your out to learn about. The Association carries out its activities according to an already consolidated scheme, with cycling in the surroundings, trips of several days, bike trips, summer trips, initiatives on the snow, dinners, cinema, etc…
ON FOOT
Siena has a completely pedestrianised old town centre where you can not go with private cars, and the only way to get around is on foot or with Pollicino, mini buses that squeeze through the streets. The structure of the old town, with steep climbs and downhills, invites you to take long walks. The center is Piazza del Campo, the undisputed symbol of the city, which is easy to get to following the directions in the streets. Once you reach the square it is easy to get to all the other major monuments, which make Siena an “open-air museum”.
Very interesting are also the itineraries of urban trekking suggested by the council (accessible to all), which you can find on the official site of the city. And do not forget that Siena adheres every year to the “National Day of Urban trekking”, with many initiatives on the territory.
CAR AND CARPARKS
Private cars cannot run in the historic centre of Siena.
However, the city has a good range of parking lots (always outside the old town). There are some very close to the center that allow you to get just outside the walls and from there easily reach the centre. The most convenient carpark is the one for the stadium to which you can arrive very easily following the stadium signs. Always near the stadium there is also the parking lot of the fortress. All car parks are for a fee: Stadium and fortress cost €1.60 per hour from 07.00 to 23.00 from 16/02 to 15/11 (Summer time) and €1.60 per hour from 07.00 to 22.00 from 16/11 to 15/02. For those staying many hours in the city, the daily ticket costs €25.60. Leaving the car park you pass in front of the church of San Domenico and you enter the historical centre of Siena.
